Green is like yesterday, and blue is like a year ago.
The purple that you see is a few years old.
Yellow in a directory means that some enclosed file was recently changed. Here we see the /etc/cups directory (inside /etc) is yellow because of the recent change in one file, /etc/cups/certs/0, two directories below (far left).
